Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor

Zach is a licensed independent clinical social worker and a licensed alcohol and drug counselor. He received his Master of Social Work from the University of Vermont. Prior to joining us, Zach worked as an outpatient therapist in a substance abuse program, an inpatient clinician in hospital diversion, and a case manager for individuals with persistent mental illness. He specializes in anxiety, depression, severe and persistent mental illness, and substance abuse issues. He enjoys working with a wide spectrum of needs and challenges, and incorporates a range of theoretical models into his approach, including cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, and motivational interviewing. Zach's emphasis in therapy is on building a strong therapeutic relationship as the foundation for change, and using this relationship to discover which approaches will be most helpful for each client's unique needs. He will work with you to help explore your needs, strengths, and goals and to come up with a plan that makes sense for you.
