Laura joined Networks in 2017 following six years of experience working in college counseling in Western Massachusetts, and one year of working with children and families in New Haven, Connecticut. She works with teenagers, emerging adults, adults and families.
Laura values strength-based frameworks, and working collaboratively with each person to find an approach that works best for them. Laura enjoys helping people to access their resilience and self-knowledge, and she is inspired by the framework of narrative therapy, which states that that the stories that we have constructed and inherited about ourselves and our lives can be re-written. Laura also values empathy, non-judgement, supporting the development of social skills, creativity, and humor in the process of working together.
Other areas of interest include: eating disorder recovery, body image, anxiety, depression, life transitions, identity development, college preparation, parent-child relationships, LGBTQ+, gender diversity, international and refugee populations, and working with undergraduate and graduate students.
